A 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck 45 miles North of Washington DC and close to the Southern border of Pennsylvania Sunday afternoon.
Local reports from DC include accounts of people feeling the tremor.
It was weak, but shallow, with led a wider area to account for the quake.
If you recall–and especially if you were in the land mass that felt it–an August 2011 earthquake in Virginia shook up much of Maryland, Jersey, and Pennsylvania. I recall it vividly. My first true earthquake I have ever been in. I was in Harrisburg.
There have been accounts of weird booms in New Jersey as of late. A source for earthquake news I read, Michael Janitch, believes that the entire North American craton is shifting.
No expertise from my on any of that.. I am an observer.
