THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK: PREMIERE TAKES DOWN U7 RADIO

The popular U7 Radio website has been forced to take down its much listened to Art Bell 24/7 stream tonight after Premiere Radio Networks issued a cease and desist order. The copyright claim was sent to the site, and u7radio.org published the text both on its site and Facebook page.

There were rumors for several days a copyright claim would be presented to the site.. Now, the full effect of the takedown is seen: no stream. No site.

Art Bell himself spoke of today's takedown on BELLGAB, saying,
Sigh, if this is because of what is coming in July I am sorry. They never fail to react in some fear based way. I am sure this will be followed by Dave coming to say it's out of his hands. By now those programs are so old that I don't see the point, frankly I don't see the point of airing one every Saturday night either. Dave should own what he does after all these Years without having to use anything I did, either music, form of announcer, old shows or anything else. I think it is one of the things that haunts him by always being in the shadow of what was. I did tell him when he started that he should make the show his own by putting his stamp on it, change everything up and own it.

Art

Dave, for those not aware, is a reference to George Noory. When Bell was coming back to the air on Sirirus, one insider in a radio station got quoted on the BELLGAB page calling George Noory 'Dave Noory,' a sign perhaps that even iHeartRadio  doesn't iHeart all of its talent..

Just days earlier U7 announced a new app for the android that was on the way.

And tonight, just like the Fine Art Stream last year, this site has ceased to exist..

  1. Like mushrooms. More streams will pop up. To many for Clear Channel to 'put out".

  2. Agreed.. There's always more.. It's amazing how much Premiere pays attention to shows more than a decade old..

  3. we have a saying in the philippines that a tree that bears much fruit --so fruitful and sweet and full of so much goodies for the taste buds-- often gets pelted by stones, usually by little boys seeing it as an adventure to throw stones and rocks at a cluster of fruits up a tree by the roadside to get the fruits fall on the ground and the boys to feast on them. that is the LEGACY OF ART BELL. because of the censorship (call it whatever you like, it's the same!), more people will be curious of WHO IS THIS ART BELL? they will have a little taste of it elsewhere like youtube, then they will want MORE. not even premiere, george noory, or an "ellen lockwood" can stop the landslide of art bell followers that is to come. just say the word, art. then ALL YOUR FANS CAN TURN AGAINST YOUR DETRACTORS. george noory will be the first to burn.

  5. […] U7 Radio is broadcasting Art Bell DREAMLAND reruns again tonight–at least for now.  The war between U7 and executives for Premiere and iHeartRadio is continuing after the initial shot across the bow when the empire struck back. […]

  7. Just check the torrent sites for archives of the shows. Trust me 99-101% of episodes are there.
