FOX NEWS: The lone snuff network

Yesterday the world was horrified by the action of ISIS and the murder of a Jordanian pilot.. Some networks, including CNN and NBC NEWS, chose not to publish any footage of the burning of man burned alive.

But then there is FOX NEWS..

That network decided otherwise and has the full video of the Islamic State burning Muadh al-Kasasbeh to death on their website.. And by doing so, they have become the only United States major news organization (others such as SHOEBAT.COM not included here) to publish the footage of murder..

FOX is warning viewers and readers that the video is 'extremely graphic.'

A UK GUARDIAN article written by Nicky Woolf in New York  reports that this is the first full video published by FOX of an ISIS murder.. Woolf says,
In a statement, the network said: “After careful consideration, we decided that giving readers of FoxNews.com the option to see for themselves the barbarity of ISIS outweighed legitimate concerns about the graphic nature of the video. Online users can choose to view or not view this disturbing content.”

YouTube removed a link to the video a few hours after it was posted, and a spokesperson for Facebook told the Guardian that if anyone posted the video to the social networking site it would be taken down.

Several news organizations used still images from the video in their news stories both in print and online – including the Daily Mail, the New York Daily News and the New York Post, which also used an image of Kasasbeh on fire for the front page of their evening edition.

The FOX NEWS decision has actually created a firestorm of sorts among terrorism experts.  The GUARIDAN article goes on to say,

Malcolm Nance, the executive director of the Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics and Radical Ideology thinktank and an expert on counter-terrorism and radical extremism told the Guardian that by posting the video Fox News was propagating “exactly what Isis wants to propagate”.

“The whole value of terror is using the media to spread terror,” he said.

Rick Nelson, a senior associate in homeland security and terrorism at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said that posting the video actually empowers Isis.

It may be interesting to note: Scotland Yard warned people in August 2014 that even watching terrorist-posted videos online could constitute a crime in Britain.  I ponder whether FOX NEWS could help lead to crimes being committed in the UK.

On a somewhat side note: The now famous series BLACK MIRROR opened with a program about a wannabe terrorist forcing the Prime Minister of the nation to have sex with a pig. In that show, the government said that any viewing of the Prime Minister's swine relations would constitute a crime.

Reality and fiction meeting together..
And FOX NEWS aiding the enemy?

That would depend, I am sure, on who you ask.
