FLORIDA FIREBALL RATTLES STATE

Only days after a major fireball exploded over Western Pennsylvania, news from Florida appears to show that a massive fireball was seen virtually across the entire peninsula and and explosion caused rattled nerves and shattered windows..

WFLA reports:

Many reported feeling a sonic boom. AMS says over 15 of the reports described a "window rattling delayed boom."

Scientists believe a meteor caused the phenomenon, ending its flight about 30 miles west from Jacksonville.

There were also reports of fireball sightings tonight as far as Georgia.. Some even trickled in from South Carolina..

The incident occurred this past Saturday night into Sunday--there are more than 170 reports about the fireball..

Scott reported in to the AMS that he is a commercial instrument rated pilot. What he saw looked “similar to the giant meteor in Russia that broke up, except it descended vertically, long enough to say ‘Oh, wow.’ ”
