I miss when people who warned of drones were considered crazy

Because lately, headlines prove that the conspiracy tin foil hat wearing theorists of yesterday were dead on the money about drones. About how they will peer into windows .. about how they will invade privacy.. and yes, about how they can be used in terror or military attacks.

Such as this, today: HEADLINE:

DRONE CONTAINING RADIATION LANDS ON ROOF OF JAPANESE PRIME MINSTER'S OFFICE..

This reporting from the AP in Tokyo:
Japanese authorities have launched an investigation after a small drone reportedly containing traces of radiation was found on the roof of the prime minister’s office, sparking concerns about drones and their possible use for terrorist attacks.

No injuries or damage was reported from the incident on Wednesday. The prime minister, Shinzo Abe, who is at present in Indonesia, works at the building during the day and commutes from his own private home roughly 15 minutes away.

Police said it was not immediately known who was responsible for the drone.

While some may be considering this terror, others are looking at it as a symbolic message to the PM.  Just this week, Japan moved into the position of restarting nuclear reactors at Sendai despite fears over Fukushima radiation and the dangers of what future earthquakes and tsunamis could do to the nation if another nuke plant was in the epicenter..

Also this week: There were abundant numbers of Japan earthquakes.

And today, this drone? Perhaps a message of protest to the government..

Regardless of terror or political message, it's the latest in a series of examples of why drones, though amazing and potentially helpful to humanity, will also have a very dark side..
